Just started a new tank with Caribsea LS. But the sand has no critters except bacteria. The questions is where can I get those small animals (worms, pods, tiny stars, etc.) Is there a starter kit or something like that?

Post a general inquiry on the forum and ask to have a bit of sand donated from established systems. Good time to do this is right before a frag swap. I would give you some of mine, but I live 100 miles from you. There are a lot of good people around, if you ask, I am sure someone will hook you up, most for free too.

I would wait a while till you have something in that sand to keep them well fed. A couple of weeks after fish are in. All you need is a cup of sand from an older tank. Live rock will also help but there are a lot of things that live in the sand that are not on the rock.
