I found this set up perfecto aquarium and prestige tank and stand and this is what it includes ( not that I will be usuing this stuff). Includes: Glass Aquarium with Corner-Flo Filtration, Glass Canopy, Prestige Wood Canopy, Prestige Stand, 72" 120 watt Quantum Double Bright Fluorescent Strip Light, 2-300 watt Visi-therm Heaters, Stick-on Thermometer, Little Giant 4-MDQX-SC 1325 gph pump, 2-Tidepool II Filtration Module, Plumbing Accessory Kit, and Quick Set-up Guide. 76" x 27" x 67-5/8" high.

The total price for this is $2999.00 --

I was hoping that someone out there might be able to tell me where I can get a better deal????

I think there is much to much 'wasted' equipment in that price. The tank, stand and canopy are obviously usable. The Little Giant, although not ideal is at least usable. The Tidepool II is supposed to be a bioball drip type sump.....not quite perfect for the price you're paying.

I think you can do A LOT better going with 'ala carte' dry goods.

I argee with Russ. I have a 180 and I think I did fairly well in getting everything. I am no way near done but for having it running its ok.

The deal I got was: Tank, stand, 200lbb of lr, 20lbs of sand, an rodi unit a bunch of pumps heaters 2 40 gal containers, some fish and mushroom corals, a brand new skimmer worht 500 alone, test kits a refractometer, 60 gal sump. and probably a bunch of stuff that i can't remember.

I have used everything but the stand oh and a pc light but I upgraded. Now I bought alot of extra stuff and sold most of the stuff I didn't use. Waht I am trying to say is there is definatly a better deal. Take your time please don't rush. I rushed it and I am paying for it like you wouldn't believe. What you should do is decide on what type of set up you want to have. Then make a list of what you think you'll need and double check it. Save up money unless you already have it and slowy buy things. Then once you have everyhtign you need go for the set up. Look out there, there are plenty of better deals and is you do it slowly you could do better off and get what you need.

I only say what I did just to try and help you out. I thnik we all here what you to have a successfull reef and I didn't listen to some people and I rushed it and now I am stuck. Ask master he'll tell you how many times I have re did plumbing for buying faulty parts or the sump or everyting else. My issue now is getting flow. And Jim said it best "Flow in a 180is alot of money".

Good luck :)

for 3K you can do a lot better. watch the boards for used or free tanks, they do come up. once the tank is found you can spend money on lighting, skimmer, and flow. other ad ons like dosing pump and controller, skimmer, can be paid for by the money saved getting a used tank.

Definitely wait Bruce! The perfect tank will come along for you long before January and then you can hand pick each of your important items like the lighting & skimmer...and all the other fun stuff!
We'll keep our eyes open here for you :)
