Hi folks,

I thought I'd open this up for some discussion/suggestions.

I recently acquired a 75G glass tank that I plan on upgrading to. The tank came with what's likely a 20G sump. I've yet to have a good look to see if the sump was drilled at all or if the pump was just submerged there.

My existing system has a 10G sump with Live sand bed, LR and chaeto/calupera.

I'd like to use both sumps if they fit under my tank but I was curious how I'd interconnect them?

I see two potential questions here (1) do I just drill holes b/w the two tanks with a glass bit or do I use some sort of pump setup? (2) is there any way to have one of these units have a lower flow rate than the other?

All thoughts/suggestions welcome.

Thanks.

At first thought I would drill them and connect them with some bulkheads and pipe. You can T off the overflow, and control the flow with a ball valve to acheive a lower flow through one.
