I am (as always) in the process of setting up a 40br as an upgrade to my 29g.
In my 29g, I have 2 returns and three powerheads (2 MJ900 and 1 small ViaAqua - 125gph I think). I want to minimize the equipment I have hanging all over the tank in my new tank.
I am going to be using a Blue Line 40 HD-X external pump (1270gph) for my returns and my skimmer. I'm going to T-off 500gph to my skimmer and run the rest through the chiller and then to the tank. I know I will need more flow than that, but I'm not sure how much more I'll need. I want something less bulky than the maxijets and has a more dispersed flow. I LOVE the vortech, but it's out of my price range for now. The Seio is the best bang for my buck, but they're so big and ugly. Any suggestions? How are people liking the Koralias?
My tank is a mixed reef so I need enough flow in some areas for SPS, but low enough flow in other places that my LPS will open up properly.
