Question about top off water??

Hey guys and girls. Maybe you can help me. I was asked this question by a co-worker and I couldn't give him an answer.He obviously knows I have a reef tank and his brother inlaw who does also wants to know if he can top off with distilled water till his new membrane arrives in a couple of days. I offered to give him a couple of gallons of my ro/di water but he lives upstate so it's not worth the drive for him.

I would see if his LFS can sell him some RODI water. Else I believe walmart even has it for sale. Use the distilled as a last resort.

Hi Harry,

He can def. use distilled water. I use distilled water for 2 years now. My DT has no algae issues.

Some Walmart stores have RO water machines where you can buy RO water by the gallon (33cents)...... note, this is RO not RODI and it still has some TDS levels.
