getting back into the hobby

hey everyone it has been a while. have made the choice to get back into the hobby. just got back from cali went to the long beach aquarium. after seeing there amazing reef tanks. the bug has biten me again also my daughter wants nemo and dori like we use to have. goiing to go small 65 gallons is all i want. still have all the equiptment expect for a lighting system. just not sure if im going to sps again. is there anything new out there that i should know about like gadgets or a new way to care for a tank is has been about a year since i broke down my old system. hope to see you guys soon.

welcome back to the hobby, there's alwways new equipment, not that i think it's any better, but there is the solaris led system and ya know all the companies supposedly come out with bigger and better equip every year.

The past year hasn't changed a whole lot as far as equipment is concerned. At least nothing conclusive. Like Rick said, LED has become more readily available.

led meaning lightig systems. are a small fortune. who has the best deals on the led. i still have my deltec skimmer. and my genx x return pumps. just not to sure about leds. are they better then mh. cheaper to run. need to do some research on lighting. better get started.

I wouldn't be switching to LED's just yet. They're nice. They seem to work. Long term jury is still out. I'd stick to the tried and true tested lighting you're familiar with.

There has been a lot of good lighting deals lately on the for sale forum. The LED lighting systems are crazy expensive.

cant wait to start up a tank. just need to go buy one. looking for a 65gallons tank with a built in overflow. think im going to keep lps corals. they are alot eaiser to care for do not require that much attn like sps.
