This is probably a stupid question, but how do you go about coral acclimation/dipping? I assume you acclimate corals and then dip them? are you using water from your tank for the dip or fresh made water? if fresh made, I assume you acclimate to that first, and then dip, and then re-acclimate to tank?

Depends on if the corals are shipped or local. I usually float the bag about 15 minutes and use fresh made saltwater for dipping. I wouldn't reacclimate if I did fresh. If it's local I use the local water to do the dip.

I don't know why you would acclimate with fresh made water, it's just adding a second stressing event IMO. You want to get the coral used to your tank levels, not some "ideal" fresh-made level.

If you are talking about a freshwater dip (i.e. no salt), that sort of depends on what pests you are trying to treat for.

There are some livestock sellers that I trust and would put their animals directly into my tank, and others where I want to inspect the animal and treat it before adding it.

It's a lot like dating in NYC.

Generally, you acclimate the coral to your tank’s water first (drip acclimation works well), then dip it using tank water mixed with the dip solution. After dipping, rinse with clean tank water before placing it in your tank. This helps remove pests while minimizing stress. Hope that helps! Balancing my studies and job is tough, so I turned to Academized, a well-known paper writing service, which you can check out https://academized.com/ here. Their expert writers crafted a well-researched, plagiarism-free paper that helped me secure an A. This service is a must-try for students! I use them for all my work and it gives me more time to my other sports and projects also.
