public transportation accessible Fish Stores with supplies

Hi. I am interested in fish stores or vendors in the NYC area that are accessible by subway and by bus. Preferably those that stock supplies (pumps, salt, etc) and have a good selection of them at reasonable prices.

I am not a big fan of ordering online, and would rather go to a store and pick something up. I guess it's the instant gratification of paying for something and actually being able to hold it in your hands that I like. I know there's a trade-off in price, but it's something I would rather take.

Right now, my immediate need is for

1) a return pump,
2) a powerhead, and
3) salt.

And maybe some live rock/dead rock/sand. But these are secondary.

Any info on stores you've had experience with or you might know that might fulfill my conditions would be greatly appreciated.

Sea Vision/Coral Factory is in Astoria right off the N/W line at Astoria Blvd. They carry all that stuff I am pretty sure. Give them a call, they are a vendor here on MR.

You'll be paying through the nose there.Trust me.Order that same stuff on Dr.Fosters and Smith for a whole lot cheaper.Salt is like 31.00 on there.Livestock is cheap there though at Sea-Vision.

I second ordering online. I like the instant gratification thing too, but getting salt at half the price & not having to carry it is always worth it. Pumps you can get new or slightly used from some members on here.

Otherwise, you can find the addresses of the pet shops you wish to visit & then do a hopstop.com for subway/bus/walking directions & times.
