Well this morning I heard a very loud splash and some flopping of some wet body near my 58g reef. I was in the next room at the time this incident occurred so by the time I got there and investigated who was missing - it was my 5" blue sided wrasse. I looked for about 40 minutes now behind my tank - nothing. I've looked and looked so I went to the next room to get my flashlight of course thats when I heard more of the flopping noise - I see a trail, but it goes dry......

:(

Still looking.

Lost cause! I've just about taken apart everything but the base board heater.
I guess I''ll find him when I move. Where the hell can a 5" wrasse hide!!!

This sucks! he was one of my first wrasses.

oooooooops!!!! posted too soon :tongue1::smash::D

Miracles do happen.
This fish was missing for about 5 hrs, now he's swimming about as if nothing happen.
I know it was him because he gets harassed every so often by the sailfin.
Now I feel like the boy who cried wolf (actually the boy who cried big puddle of water and a water trail........)

I guess it's time to trap him, he's too docile and somewhat too big for my tank.

sigh....

do you have a cover? I'm betting he splashed out, back in and then went for cover. If you have some kind of cover you know it won't jump out.

B

That's exactly what happened. The back of my tank I cover with a glass canopy to protect the overflow from the jumpers, thats where I found the large puddle of water leading over the side of my tank.
