I just replaced my MH bulbs yesterday. I have (3) 250watt 10k coralvue bulbs. I put them in, but the tank looks very yellow now. Is this just part of the break-in period for the bulbs? Or the bulbs crappy? They're Coralvue bulbs.

There is a burn in period on the bulbs. What was the kelvin rating on the previous bulbs? Were they 10k as well or were they 14 or 20k?

If you went down in the K rating the tank will look "yellower" No matter what.

Thanks for the prompt replies guys. I have three 250watt ballasts and was running 10k bulbs before. SO i just put in new 10k bulbs...i did notice these bulbs (theyre standard moguls) were a bit longer than that previous ones. I dont think that should matter though. I don't know the kelvin ratings or anything, I dont have a meter to measure it. But the previous bulbs were about 18months old, so i figured it was time for a change.
