I have my QT tank up and running. It is a 72 gal acrylic setup that someone gave me. Running HOB equipment, it will do the job. I have sme live rock in there. Is that a bad idea, or does it not matter. Im just concerned that if I put a fish in there and medicate that it could hurt something in the future if there is rock in there....

Any information would be WONDERFUL!!!!

The rock will absorb the meds and if put into a tank with inverts those meds could leach out into the tank killing any inverts. Rule of thumb if it's used in a QT tank it should only be used for QT or FO thereafter.

IME I keep my qt completely empty and I have the bottom, sides and back panel painted black. You don't need to put LR in there but if you want your fishes to feel more comfortable a few pieces of pvc will do the trick.

As stated above, the L/R will absorb the meds..which also means it will leech the meds. If you need to use copper to medicate, it could possibly give you a different dose than you are aiming for in the future. If you use it once for one med and another for a different one, you could be setting yourself up for a problem.
Why damage perfectly good rock when pvc pipe will give your fish the security they need in the QT tank?

Well i already have the rock in there. I am not planning to move the rock, it is going to stay there. I just wanted to make sure that it will not be a problem in there

Not to be a smarta$$, but why did you ask the question?

Well i was not PLANNING on moving it. But if it can cause a problem then i will take it out. My original question was if it could cause a problem. And you just informed me that it COULD. So then in this case i will prob take it out then. :)

Have any pics? That's going to be a heck of a QT tank :)
I don't think I could resist the impulse to fill something that size with rock & fish...and corals...lol
