How do everyone change the media in the Phosban reactor. I just change it for the first time and it turned to be a big mess. I tried to empty as much water as possible then attempted to dump the the media into my garbage can. I had to rise what stay in the reactor down the drain. I really do not want to do this every time.

get use to it, pour the water left in it in the sink, dump old media out rinse container, add new media and run it in ro or in water from water change to get dust off and out of reactor, once a month chore but you and the corals will be happy you do it in the long run

As above, pour out the water and dump the rest in them garbage. Rinse out the reactor.

When you go to rinse out the GFO media, you can buy what is called a plankton collector. Florida Aqua Farms sells them, but any place that sells stuff for culturing live food will have them. It looks like a big cup with the bottom replaced with a very fine mesh. I use that to rinse the GFO media. Just dump it into the cup and rinse it. Only the dust gets removed, after you can put the media into the PO4 reactor.

If you want to buy the collector from FAF here is the part number.
BB-PC 4" dia cup, 53?

Also, I like to add carbon to the reactor. I add it on top of the GFO with a sponge in between.

I change the media while I am doing a water change.

Dump the old media, and fill reactor with new.
Remove the reactor's return from the sump and direct it into a bucket.
Turn reactor on and watch bucket fill.
Dump bucket until water runs clear.
Fill tank back up with new salt water.
