make sure you QT him so that if he has ich it wont spread through the whole system
petco is sometimes tempting... cant blame you, but they rarely have healthy fish

No Qt for me. All of my fish go right in. I saw him this morning & went back for him at 5:30PM. There was a dead sixline wrasse in the tank & another sixline that had Ich. There were a bunch of cleaner shrimp, blood shrimp, crabs, strawberry pseudos, a royal gramma, firefish, yellow watctman goby, a canary blenny, horseshoe crabs, porcelain crabs, starfish, etc, etc. in that tank. He looks good.

He was swimming around in their tank like nothing (not the tanks connected to each other, a seperate tank, like a display). He went straight into a corner or my tank, then in the front under a rock (I can still see him clearly, he's between the rock & the front glass)

He did come out to grab some mysis when I fed.

Lights out an hour ago, hopefully when I get home tomorrow he'll be more comfortable. I'm sure Petco received the fish as what the labeled it as & paid accordingly for it.

Thanks for all the support!!

if you can catch him try a quick fresh water dip, or go back and buy a 5 or 10g tank and set it up as a qt tank, your taking a chance of killing the rest of your fish or getting them infected

OK so it's confirmed, what I thought was sand stuck to his body is Ich. He is out swimming & eating & is beautiful. Hopefully he will make it.
so he does have ich now???
i still recommend QT'ing him even if you dont have a great QT tank. its better to have him die(if he dies) in a makeshift QT than in your tank.
if you're really desperate then you can simply use a large bowl of tankwater and keep the room temperature fairly high.(not a recomended QT but worth a shot)
also start feeding your fishies garlic.

Nah, I don't do anything special when a fish gets Ich, just make sure to feed them very well. i had a few fish with Ich & the ones I have now pulled thru it. I've never really ever had a problem with gobies & Ich.

The only problem is I think the cleaner shrimp won't be effective since he prolly won't let him clean him. Also, since garlic is not natural to the ocean I will not use it.

I didn't wat to stress him out more by removing him, especially since he's eating very well.

I went to the Union sq one and they don't have room to keep fish separate from one another. They had triggers with butterflies and and a Big asfur angel with fungus in his eye and attacking the many tangs in there with their tails chomped off, bird wrasse, etc all together in one 20 or 30 long tank.Crazy.And..they were acclimating more fish to put where? They should stick to fresh water.

I know, I do like the fact that they have the other two tanks with all of the small critters, even tho they are all eating each other.

I managed to get a CBS for $5.99 missing his claws a few months back. I'm not a fan of Petco but I've been working a few blocks away for the week so what else was I supposed to do on my break?
