lissa, thanks again.
I forget the name of the person you told me when you were at my place.
Also what was the name of the daily supplemnt(ion buffer for ph, etc) that you said I should get, instead of the kent version I was using.
PS, the tank looks great, got rid of lobster, and totally change rocks. will post pics after frag swap

Oh, I said I liked B-ionic 2-part. Or, if you set up an auto top off, you can dose using kalk. There are a bunch of threads discussing the merits of both. If you end up going that way, my ex-boyfriend has a ton of kalk left over that he was looking to offload. If you decide to go with B-ionic, you can probably pick some up from our vendors at the swap.

Not sure if it is what you are looking for, but they sell perfect pieces of glass that fit right on top of the AP's. I purchased one for my 12 gallon but haven't used it yet.

I bought the glass cover, for like $12.....
1st) doesnt fit great, front corner(rounded edge) doesnt fit well.
2nd) tank seems to heat up a bunch, havent had time to figure out adjusting the fan for the new temp change.
3rd) the entire top must be removed to feed(or get into) tank, and the glass top goes under the lights, so they too must be removed.
4th) it gets dirty(salt build up/water spots), and looks like crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't have the glass on yet. I thought about heat being an issue, and also the salt build up but didn't think about removing for feeding. That would definitely be a pain. I did notice that the glass fit perfect, but had room to slide it back.

I hate the idea of running an open top tank with these nano type tanks since evaporation is crucial.
