Its been nearly a year since I have went into bare-bottom using the star board. An I've been contemplating with LS for my 90G.
  • I like the LS look, especially the white sand (ESV)
  • Easier to display your corals
  • Types of fish/inverst that like LS
Coverting to LS will factor the pros & cons:

I have several question and would appreciate your feedback and suggestion. One more thing, lets keep this thread on the topic and nothing more!
Thank you

For now I have a few question for now.

1) Firstly, I guess my main concern, once I have all the sand I need to put into this tank. Will I be able to put back all of my coral and fish back right away?
2) How much sand will I need?
3) What kind should I buy?
4) Will my tank go through a cycle process?

I added about 40 additional lbs of dry sand to my established sand bed and what a disaster. Nothing but alagae problems that I never had. Red slime on the sand bed plus alagae that just falls apart into tiny particles when blown with a turkey baster, This is on the live rock. I have a ton of flow. Now Im looking into getting a sock to trap all these fine particles of alagae. I will try to post pics.
