I was wondering if anyone had information on Agardhiella tenera? I collected some on the south shore of LI and put it in my fuge. It grows like crazy. I'd say it even grows faster than chaeto. It doesn't seem to need the same intensity of light as chaeto either. Of course this is just my observation not a fact.

Any information is appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Randy,

I have quite a bit already. Depending on how much you need, I could probably give you some asap.

Coincidently I am going to Brooklyn tonight so I may be able to drop some off to you. I'd be interested in your findings.

LMK,

Dom

Is this what it looks like?

considering that when I looked it up this thread was number 5 in google,
there is not much info out there on your Agardhiella tenera.

One site that was selling it said it was very tasty. I have never thought to try a cheato salad so perhaps this alone gives it the edge on good ol' cheato.

You can serve it at the next dinner party or sell some Agardhiella tenera to the local Japanese restaurant :eat:

Yes very similar. That is what it looked like in the colder water near the shore when I collected a few small pieces. It is much fuller now that it has been introduced to warmer water and lighting 24-7. I just looked in the sump and it is amazing how fast it grows.

My tangs go crazy for it..... Hopefully that's what they meant by "tasty". LOL

Randy,

It was nice meeting you today. Thanks for showing me the reef setups too. Your much nicer than me... I would never disturb my light cycles for anyone. LOL

Good luck with your project and I look forward to the output.

Dom
