I found a similar filter to the one pictured below at Lowes. Of course my spontaneous purchase button was pushed and I bought two for the plumbing of my system. It seems too good to be true considering it fits perfectly with my plumbing and has a backwash system. I hate filter socks and pads so this filter immediately caught my attention.

Has anyone seen this or used it? Pros? Cons?

Thanks in advance for any info!

My guess is there is no real minimum. The one in the picture has a max PSI of 150.

Here is the online specs:
Easy to see and flush, washable mesh filter lasts forever
Mesh screen in a chemical resistant transparent bowl
Water swirls down and keeps the mesh screen clean
Coarse meshes are stainless, fine meshes polyester
Flush out sediment with a flick of the red drain valve
Can be taken apart, washed, the unit lasts indefinitely
Rated for 120F water temp and 150 psi max
3 psi drop at 50 GPM flow, wingspan 14", height 17"
Available screens: 24 mesh (711 microns), 30 (533), 40 (381), 60 (254)
100 (152), 140 (104), 250 (61), 500 (30) and 1,000 (15) Try a few different size meshes to match water
If too fine, it plugs up, if too coarse, not much filtering
Some install two units in a row with two mesh sizes

Do you have a part number?
I would not use the SS mesh, as it will corrode over time. Looks like it would be great for supplemental filtering. I don't think I would use it on any main line. If it clogged, your in for a flood. If you ran a pump under your drains, in the sump, through this and back again, it might collect some junk.

Well, it didn't work too well on my system. Mainly because the screen is too fine. It's water flow potential decreased within minutes even though the filter did not capture much sediment. I am going to give it one more try with a mesh that is not as fine and see what happens.

I'll keep you posted.
