How often do you do a water change?

10 gallons every week from my 65g tank

I normaly change 40gal a month thats about 25 to 30 percent. This summer I was really busy with work and let almost three months pass without a water change and the tank started to show signs of decline.
I did a water two weeks ago and getting ready for another one with in the week.

I have a 150 with 40 gallon sump I do water changes with ro/di water every 2 weeks. I do 20- 25 gallons each time. I also found if you take the first five from the sump it prevents it from smelling.

I LOVE your Morris Idol! Are they reef safe? Did you have a difficult time getting it to eat?
The reason I ask is I saw one a cpl of weeks back and almost bought it.
Any trix to getting it to eat?

I had that Idol for almost five years and accidently killed it in an accident. They are not usually difficult to get to eat and they will eat anything. The dificulty is getting them to live even though they eat. I have found ways to keep them but it would take up a lot of space here on a thread about water changes.
They are not easy and almost no one has had one longer than 7 years which stinks.

i havent changed my water in about 4 months.. i changed 10 gallons about a week ago out of my 120 gallon tank. i run carbon, phosar, and skim the crap out of the tank..

TANK SIZE 180G . I have been changing water every 10 days ... I feed heavy at times now like 4/5 cubes a day and atleast once a week feed Rotifiers and Oyster eggs. I used to do once a month but seems like nothing is changing in my tank but since I feed heavy, skim heavy and 20g of waterchange in 10 days I have seen much better results in growth, polyp extension and color ...
