I waited 7 months for Cloverfield to come out. During I had to deal with all the JJ Abrams Lost type clues and tie-ins and little 4 second trailers. Please dont not subject me to this torture again.

Goodluck with your plan, hope it works out.

Okay, I think I have it for one tank only just like my 2 tank plan... 12ft of pvc... 2 elbows at the top of 2 pieces cut into 2 4' pieces and 1 4' piece across the top.. Of course both 4' pieces can't be the same length maybe 4' 8" on one end .Like a big U up side down... One side has to be lower in the water than the other... Than you put some poly pad over the exit hole\entrance back into the tank.... One on each side of the tank.. The bigger piece of pvc you use the better probably... Try to stack some rocks in the tube for good bacteria to grow...Walah... Oh yeah left out one part starting the syphon... Get your suck on...lol

LOL
georgelc86, I walked out of Cloverfield 1/2 through the movie...
a waste of money!

I will agree, I'm very curious how he plans to make this happen...

I stay for the whole thing, I liked it. And thats only because I was researching it for months, Japanese company, eco-terrorist group, the character myspace pages, Slusho, etc. But I was annoyed and there better be a sequel and it better not be from another camera. Wait, doesnt this belong in the Nudibar.

The only thing I can think of is using solar energy to power a small pump, but then that wouldnt be pumpless.

How to defy fluid dynamics..hmmm... everyone to the Batcave!

I think if you hook the flux capacitor to the main matter-antimatter converter (the one in Jeffries Tube A132), reverse the polarity and put in three quarters it should work (or explode, one or the other).

I had a pumpless 2 gallon back in the day. It wasnt exactly a reef tank. It was cool water with one catalina goby, a field of caulerpa and a whole lot of pods. Temperature management was difficult but doable. I don't think you will be able to produce a significant enough amount of water movement for the long term maintenance and growth of most corals. If you just plan on keeping inverts with a balance of live plants than you should be alright.

This definately has my interest, I can only think of 2 ways to do this,

using an airpump to transfer water in an uplift tube, but this technically is not pumpless or,

using heat to get the water to rise then fall as it cools, I dont think ths will work as the amount of heat needed to get the water to rise enough will overpower the cooling ability and the tank will overheat.

So how long are you going to keep us in suspense?

gene ... after a month ago you started this i find a couple aptaisia (what ever!) and set them on to about a quart of salt water from my tank ... so far they doing FINE ... sometime salinity goes to upper 30's....sometimes it gets cool there in the vessel....i start thinking of aquascaping already...
is thats what you talking about?
