Hello all:

Tomorrow will be my first MR event and I have a quick question.
I noticed that there are auctions scheduled at two different times durring the day and wanted to know what was up for auction at each.
I am looking to pick up some zoe's and other types of corals for my Nano. Any clarification of what to expect tomorrow would be great.

Ive also noticed that many people are pre selling their corals before
the event. IS this the norm? Will there still be items for those of us looking to make our purchases tomorrow?

Also, what do I need to bring to get in. My payal reciept?

Thanks

Delmarr.

There should still be alot of coral there if you get there early enough from vendors (the stuff sells quick so get there early). Usually the people on the boards set up sales a week or two before hand and do the trade at the swap so they don;t have to do the sales at the swap. There will be a few vendors there selling alot of stuff too though so if you missed something that was beeing sold by members should be more at the swap. That along with the auctions which are fundraisers for the site which will have very very nice coral.

Delmarr,
There will be MORE than plenty of corals to choose from with the vendors attending the swap. You will not leave empty handed, unhappy or unsatisfied with what you pick up. That has never been a concern of any attendee as far back as I can remember. Most people complain they don't attend with as much cash/paypal/credit card available as they should have.

The different times you're seeing for raffle and auction are specifically for two different type of fund raisers for the club. The raffle is for you to purchase tickets and place them into specific 'buckets' for you to possibly be drawn to win that particular prize (displayed on the bucket). The auction is normally for livestock donated by vendors and club members for attendees to bid on (hence the name auction).

The term used for this event is called the Manhattan Reef Frag SWAP so that it can get our community together (twice a year at these larger events) and people can pre-arrange trades (or swaps) with other members that they don't get to see on a regular basis. This type of 'swapping' helps to preserve our natural reefs, promote camaraderie between members, keep thriving, healthy tanks throughout our region and keep our club a community.

Hope this all helps.

Look forward to meeting you at the show,
Russ

Delmarr,
You will not leave empty handed, unhappy or unsatisfied

Russ
Yes he will.......................................
He will leave empty handed, because all the money he came with will be gone.............

Unhappy- Because as soon as he runs out of money they will be auctioning the item he was waiting for all day........

Unsatisfied- Because he will feel like a two minute fragger after they auction of his favorite item........J/K

You will not leave empty handed, unhappy or unsatisfied .

So if want This statement to be true....Bring Lots Of Money.
See ya at the swap
