Chaeto Question

I have a very simple question regarding chaeto guys/gals.:scratchch
I have been wondering if anyone has ever kept chaeto in their display? I've been thinking of doing just that. What I am thinking is of putting a ball of it the rear of the tank between the glass & lr.
Any thoughts, advice, comments are welcomed!

i did it when i tore down my fuge, but my tang ended up eating it all

Yes i had it once in my display tank but it grew really quick and really big and had to take it out after some time. Also had a problem of it sometimes clogging my filter, something you should look out for.

i've seen a lot of ppl make lil cubes out of some light defuser and put the chaeto inside it keeps the fish out and pods safe

Depends on what fish you have. You could always get an acrylic box with lots of holes in it to keep it in. Then the fish if they eat it, can only get to what is at the holes...

Thanks guys! I think I will create a chaeto box out of eggcrate, and stick that in the back where it is not so visible. A little pod motel.:biggrin:

I don't have to worry about tangs getting to it since I have no tangs in my reef. My tangs just about decimated my blueberry gorgonian. When I first started in the hobby, many moons ago, the tangs eat all my feather dusters, and now my gorgi:headache:
