I was just talking on the phone with Joe (jw10604) and went to feed my RBTA. I try to put the krill as close to the mouth as possible so nobody can steal it from the anemone. I was having a hard time finding the mouth becaue the RBTA had itself jammed up under a rock. I couldn't get to it from the front so I tried the back where I saw some red tentacles sticking out. I put the food in the anemone then crouched down to see if it took the krill. What I saw was a much smaller anemone than usual. Some time in the past 2 days my RBTA had split!
This is one prolific anemone! What I got from Phil last summer was a clone that he got from someone else whose RBTA had split. And I think that anemone was also the product of a split. This RBTA is going to single handedly populate the reef tanks of the east coast!
