Anyone ever tried putting a propeller mod on a bigger internal pump???

Like a Seio or a Rio... Something that naturally does 600,800,900ghp.. I was think about it but thought the flow would be way to much in the 1600 to 2200 range...

First, no Rio is going anywhere near any tank that I own.

That being said, I would hope for more than 1,600 - 2,200 gallon range for something that big. My Vortech puts out 3,000+ by itself.

I never used a rio but what's the matter with them..

From my reading, Rio's are notorious for overheating which causes the epoxy the guts are incased in to crack, exposing the copper windings to the water and the demise of the pump.

if your modding a big pump why wouldn't you just use an eductor at the output line?

i think a propeller will do more from the looks of that it just has more holes for output spreading the flow out morenot increasing it..

the holes from the sides allow the stream to take in more water and increase the amount of water flow at the end of the eductor. it turns a 1000 gph flow into something like 3000 gph. the rock i have in front of the eductor is actually getting weathered away from the flow.

I think you're better off with the enductor as well..it's the some thing they use on
a fire hose.. think about that..lol

That's a bad idea...The gas and oil will kill everything in the tank.
