Hmmmm nice mod!
I started taking one apart once to see what voltage they ran on but ended up not modding it. There is a site where you can buy all of the replacement parts for it, ballasts etc. I'll see if I can dig it up. They also sell the fans and I think they were 12v. If you decide to mod it please fully document the mod and make a thread for it. That would be VERY useful information for current and future sunpod owners.

UPDATE:
Damn,

They don't have the fans but if you open yours up you can see what size fan they use. Then just try replacing them with appropriately sized computer fans.

Thanks for trying anyway :)
I called " Current" and the woman didn't know exactly what kind of fan they have in the fixtures and ballasts. She didn't even know that the fans were on the sides! she thought they were above the halides ... all she knew that they are 3"x1" fans
I just wanted to know if anyone has done this successfuly in the past and was able to reduce the noise?

i would just mod it with a bigger low rpm computer fan. the reason for the noise is cause they're small, so rpm is high. get 1 thats low db.
