I have a strange looking crab hiding in a rock that is covered by mushrooms. I have the rock insolated but how do I remove the crab without killing the mushrooms? I would hate to break this rock up. Suggestions are appreciated.
catch him. Take a tall glass jar and put some food in the bottom. Place it by the rock, leaning onto it. Make the angle as steep as possible. the crab falls in and can't get out.
Take the rock out and dump a liter of seltzer on it. Not club soda, not tonic. Just seltzer. Do it over a catch bin or rubbermaid tub. The crab should come running out. Dip the rock in some old tank water (from a water change) and put it back in the tank.
I got him. Dime sized crab, drab grey with large claws and black tips. He would not come out after freshwater dips. I finally grabbed him with tweezers.
