they sell digital images for $135-$800.

those are prices for stock photography used in advertising, the pricing is average.

they are images taken by professional photographers, they need to eat also

there are theories that say, if you have a lower price,u sell more. so sometimes a lower price actually means you make more money

That is a perfectly reasonable price for a stock photograph to be used in advertising. When I used to put together advertising for a company I worked for, we had to pay even more than that for images. These images would easily that much printed and hung in a gallery or at an art show.

I guess they know these pics won't sell even at 10% of the original price. So better rip off when chances come.
