Hi everyone. Looking for opinions both positives and negatives about switching out and external gen-x pump for my sump with an eheim model 1262 which would be outside the sump. I'm looking for a quiet pump.

thanks James

I believe the 1262 does 900gph. Eheims are some of the coolest running and quietest internal or external pumps and they are almost always the pump of choice for DIY computer overclocking because of their cool running nature. Sounds like a good choice.

I in the process of upgrading to a 120 with dual overflows and was thinking that adding only one 1262 (900gphs) would be enough, with the addition of two Koralife #4's (1200 gphs rating each).

I'm I smoking crack, or do you think that would be sufficient water flow?

No I think that would be fine as most people use there return for just that and not circulation. I want to try running the 2 returns with sea swirls and pendctors so I can eliminte a few power heads. Ideally I would love to do a closed loop but thats not possible right now
