I contacted IO directly since my Ca on my new RC batch read only 200ppm but they told me that wasn't impossible so I sent them a sample of it but I haven't heard back from them.:scratch:

how new is the bucket of salt? mine are all from about a year ago.

I got mine in October-November.

Mine reads 340 ppm, pretty low. Any recommendations on a different brand?

thats not the 1st time i've heard of this.
i've switched 2 using seachem reef n dont always test but last time seems to be in the 400 range.

I'm switching back to Seachem reef salt.It keeps it at 450ppm and lots of magnesium too.Buffers it too at 8.4.With RC,I'm always dosing two part calcium/ buffer.:irked:

Same here with RC. I switched to RC from IO becasue it is supposed to be a little better. Now I seriously suspect if they are the same salt put in different package.
