hi guys ive been using only b-ionc cal for my tank . the alk i havnt used it yet . my alk is at 12 and any time i need to buffer my ph i use ph buffer and raise it to 8.2. can any body tell me if im doin somethin wrong . is the alk part solution to raise alk and ph?

If you do do water changes frequently you should have great water levels and barely feed. most coral make there own food. and the salt in the fresh water changes have all the trace elements so unless you have hard coral you dont need to add the often.They over sell that stuff and tell one to use it way to much.

ive had a fish only tank for 2yrs then i traded my fish only for reef right now. my friend told me that it works like this. one week i only add cal ,when that week is up then comes alk to the tank. what u think?

It has been mentioned in numerous threads of yours to only dose what you test for and adjust dosages accordingly.

Also, did you read the article reefman posted? :tired:

ok deanos . i know about the testin all im askin is it true what my friend said.


Every reef is different.What works for your friend dosent mean its gonna work for your reef.You have to TEST,TEST,& TEST again to determine the ammount of additives your reef requires.

Rember that key to a sucessful reef is stability,& patience.Just relax,STOP buffering the water,& do weekly WC's.And keep testing.

I saw someone ask you what type of test you were using before,but didnt see a responce.A good quality test kit is mucho important.
