I know SPS's require moderate to high flow. But at what point does the flow become too much to handle? The tank in question mesures 23"hx23"wx 27"d over all and the display area is only 20''deep with the same hieght and width. This is tank has a bulit in sump. Now the aquascaping is going to be made up of layers and have an open bottom. I wanted to keep many SPS frags on the top layers and some LPS's and Zoa's on the bottom. For in tank flow I was thinking of two Maxie-jet 1200's modded w/ the higher flow mod pushing around 1600-2000 gph. It was then suggested that, that may be too much flow for even SPS to handle. So I pose the question, what would be a better flow rate ? Is there a standerd per gallon. I was thinking in terms of turn over rate.
