I recently visited Country Critters with Joetbs last week. While I was there I had the opportunity to make a video of the two zebra horn sharks and the two port jackson horn sharks. I thought it turned out alright, thankfully some of the fish were active.

The tank was about 250-300 gallons and it was chilled. The fish had plenty of swimming room and Horn Sharks are suitable captive fish because they are not all that active as fish go.

Nice vid Jake.

These are kept at 70 degrees and the Zebras are going to be bred (1m/1f). The tank is 325g + sump IIRC. The H. portjacksoni were little 9" babies just a couple months ago. Also, H. zebras are going into the owner's 2,000g tank shortly.

How about educating people not to catch sharks for our aquariums

We all decide to draw the line somewhere when it comes to keeping captive animals for our personal enjoyment. This BB is not a forum for PETA or their viewpoints but rather how to provide the best care for our pet and ornamental animals while having minimal impact on the environment. Horn sharks are some of the most suitable species to keep and breed in captivity and there is obviously a long term goal in place for the pair in question.

Perhaps this information should have been posted along with the video.
Not everyone knows this about horn sharks, I did not not.

Many of our members care deeply about the environment, and the fish that are taken from the reefs. Sharks are a big contention here, so seeing ones kept in a small tank will lead to the comments posted.

We need more threads educating people on what fish are suitable to be kept in our tanks and which are not. This is something we have just begun to work on.
