I just purchased a big pink anemone last week, it settled on the live rocks and found a home and opened up and looked really pretty. Last night it moved and went into the back of the tank in a tight space between the rocks and the overflow.

It looks like it's STUCK and there's no way for me to get it out unless I disassemble my epoxied rocks!! I called the store and they recommended using the power head to make it shift but the space is too tight there!

Is this normal? and will it survive there?? help!!!!!

anenome ???

Hi there,
I also have an anenome that did a similar thing as yours. I have found that, as many people here have pointed out, anenomes do what they want to do. When I first got mine it settled perfectly in the center of my tank and opened up beautifully! I was so excited and thought,"none of these people on here know what the hell they're talking about!" In a day or two it moved into a hole in the rocks that I loved watching my fish swim through. This caused me some concern because I thought my fish were goners for sure. Another day passed and it moved to the back of the rock and closed up so I couldn't even see it! I was certain it was gonna die. But then it moved again and is toward the back of the tank, but I can see it when it opens up and is much happier now that it has a pair of clowns to hang out.

Basically, if you want to move it try the powerhead or change something in the tank. It will move if it wants to. That's really the only advice anyone can give you. There's only so much you can do with a wild animal.

Good luck and I hope you get as much enjoyment out of yours as I get out of mine.

then u move the coral. Its that simple. If you move the anemone, unless you get lucky and find it a happy spot, it will probably end up moving anyways somewhere else.

You do research on anemones before you purchased him? Its usually stated on placement and its tank behavior.
