aquactinics......lights for 150 gallon? 4x2x2.5

Hey all:

I'm trying to decide on lights for the 150 gallon tank (from cali_reef)that I am going to be starting up soon.

As of now not really sure as to what livestock I want to keep (but definitely would like clams, LPS, and some easy to care for SPS)so I am open but I am partial to having a MH/T5 combo. To this end I saw an aquactinics MH/T5 fixture and 250W ballast upgrade with separate switches for MH and T5on Reefcental and was wondering if anyone on this board has any experience with this fixture on a 120/150.

I was also thinking of getting two mini-lumenarc reflectors to use for halides (since I can hang the two reflectors between the joists)....can't get the regular reflectors due to some ductwork above the tank.....

Aqautinics is a high Quality fixture no matter if it's T5 or MH.Well worth the money.

I think your tank is too wide for effective coverage of any shelf brand fixture. That is why cali was using full sized lummies. You probably noticed that there was barely any room left for the VHO's.

Warren: Thanks. That's what I was thinking as well.....so maybe the mini lumenarcs for me are the way to go ........ Have to do some additional research....
