This morning I woke up to this. It looks like there are two. My guess is it split, so my question is do I leave it alone or seperate them? And if I do have to seperate them, how do I?

I apologize if this might sound like a stupid question...

Thank you in advance

I feel like you feel! When my rbta split I left it alone to heal. After I saw that it was healed (about a week), I gave the baby to a friend.;) Hope that helps! And I did continue to feed them while they healed!

Leave them alone to heal. I wouldn't feed either until their mouths are completely formed/healed.

p.s. No buying/selling in this forum...send a PM :irked:

Thank you Dean! So your statement was a bit generalized, and apparently my rbta, and it's clone were able to handle their little morsels with no harm. I mean, that I would think that if the animal could not deal with feedings it just would not eat. Would this be correct?

The tentacle may "instinctively" grab the offered food and move it towards the oral opening, but the food would eventually be released back into the water column if there was no mouth present or it hadn't healed properly enough to ingest the food. I wouldn't imagine it would happen immediately (the food release).

Exactly! My rbta not only grabbed the little morsel, it ingested it. Unless of course it regargatated it sometime later in the middle of the night, and the couple of snails & hermits that are in the tank ate it.;) I'll see what happens the next time it splits.
