I have a RODI unit but haven't been able to use it cos I can't connect it to my tap in my apartment. I know that you can get adapters but there seems to be a kind of mesh (a filter of some sort?) over the opening of the tap so I don't think an adapter would fit inside the tap.

Talked to the landlord but he's not so helpful - citing something about plumbing laws in New York? I don't really understand it all as I've never connected a RODI system before or even seen one connected.

It's frustrating it sitting there and me not being able to actually use it. It's a Kent RODI system I believe.

Can anyone offer any advice?

Thanks Dane

You need an adapter w/diffuser.

Try your local hardware store.

Look under the sink. There should be a thin metal tubing on each side with a knob at the end (to shut off water). The one on the right should be cold water. Find the connection where the tube connects to the knob & go to a hardware store & pick up a T adapter of that size to divert water to the RO/DI. You will get good pressure this way, & it will be out of sight, under the sink.

thanks bigbris. I've found the tube and the knobs. But how do i actually put the T adapter on? Will I need to play plumber and disconnect the tube somehow? :bigeyes2:

What I did is disconnect the tube & carefully bend it to an S shape to make it shorter to allow for fitment of the adapter. This way I didn't have to pierce the tube.

Wow, how you get that cool under the faucet diagram!:Yikes:
