Chemi pure question???

Does Chemi pure leach phosphates?I use the elite version.Something in my sump or tank is leaching it even though my salifert test kit is reading zero,I use RO/DI and I run my phosban reactor.I don't feed much.Driving me Nuts!!:frown:Also using macro in the sump.Corals are fine though.

i'm using the elite also, haven't had any instances with it leaching. how long have u had it running

Using elite also, change it out every 4 weeks. No issues.

I did have a bag once that spilled some in the sump.Could that media be causing a imbalance?Hard to siphon it out from those tight baffles.

I would look into the macro trapping ditritus.

Maybe,gotta do a serious cleaning in that sump.Need a mag drive to get it done.I saw someone selling a mag 3 on here and on Ebay too.sucking that out is hard when you don't have a pump to do it with.:arg:

Wondering this myself..
Test kits are near useless when measuring phosphates, best done with a Hanna meter.
Will a turkey baster reach down between your baffles?

It will have to be a big one.Not sure if I have one.Worth a shot but a pump will get it all out.

Perhaps a piece of rigid airline tubing might fit into the end of your baster ...to extend it?

Was it due to the spilled Chemipure that you think you have phosphates?

I think it might.Got to explore the possibilities.I used to have LR in there and it got real dirty and caused a spike in nitrates.Just have the Cheato in there.Need to get all that crap out of there on my next water change.

It could be a variety of reasons..you mention you 'had' LR in there..if you recently took it out you could be having a mini cycle..or another cause might be that your bulbs are getting old..
