Berlin Skimmer

I bought a Berlin Skimmer over 2 years ago.. never set up a salt tank till now.. I am in the process of setting up a 30 Gallon reef.. I don't see anyone useing that skimmer.. Is it that bad?? Should I ditch it and go with something else?? I'd like opinions on it Good or Bad!! Thanxxx Joey:dog:

Is it the berlin skimmer with the airstone? If so you would probably want to go with something better. Give us some more information - size of tank, Bio-load, fish only or corals, etc - and people will be able to make some skimmer suggestions for you.

Either way, that is not a really efficent skimmer. You should scrap that one and get something better. Like tunze/euroreef/aquac... there are more brands that I havent named.

It's a triple pass venturi,can go in the sump or hang on back..It's rated to 250 Gallons.. My set up will be a 30 long with a 29 gallon sump..The tank will be a mini reef with maybe 2 or 3 reef fish..lighting will be a Nove Pro 6 bulb T5 ho setup..

Rated 250g, but it's so inefficient, you'll be disappointed with its performance on your 60g system.

I guess I made a BOO BOO buying this 2 years ago..What do recomend getting,rather have it in the sump..

Depends on your skimmer budget.

Next question ... Should I start the tank up n running with the Berlin and switch over in a month or two,or just get another skimmer and start with that?
