Remora Skimmer not skimming like it use to...

i dont understand what the hell this thing is doing. it skimmed the crap out of the tank like crazy in the beginning and now its barely skimming at all. i took everything apart last night and cleaned it out and took of the pre-skimmer thinking that was the problem but it wasnt. it is a used one that nick lent me any ideas people. the pump seems very strong still so i dont think its that.. im out of ideas :arg:..... and my water is still cloudy not alot though :screama:

and stick something inside the plastic injector to check for a blockage

whatever you do, don't tighten that screw in too much OR drop it - you'll never find it again and without it, the skimmer won't work. It's a white screw on the gray elbow going down into the skimmer chamber.

it use to skim a full containers worth within a day. as you said waterflow is good but its just not skimming like it use 2. i dont understand. im going to take it apart again and check the injector really well. i dont no what the problem could be :sigh:

when you took the screw out did you stick a brush cleaner in there and clean the injector out ? also how long is the hose thats connects to the pump ?

well i no for sure the entire injector is clean i swapped out the older MJ 1200 for another one i had around well see what happens :arg:

maybe it just has nothing to skim so its producing less skim.

run carbon it should fix the problem if the bubbles aren;t collecting on top.

i ran carbon in my canister filter and my skim isn't black like that. but yea it looks like its skimming, just make sure the skimmer isn't crooked like tilted sideways or anything.

if its not flush/ level with the back of the tank would that affect skimmate as well ? this is why i like big skimmers that sit in a sump.........
