noisey overflow box

i have a overflow box (1400gph) cpr style it did not come with a prefliter and the pvs pipe i put in w/holes drilled in it make a lot of noise ,,, does any one have the plains to make a prefilter for this ???

I think your gonna need the prefilter pad but you can use some vinyl tubing the same size as the whole in the prefilter for the tubing w/in the overflow box (my tubing was slightly small so I used a plastic bag around it to make it water tight fit), Also make sure the end of the line in the sump is fully submerged in the sump, I have a piece of live rock holding mine under, not sure why this works, but with the same overflow box, it completely stoped gurggling noise. Also another tip I learned with this type of overflow, by getting a longer airline (install where the small one that is there to create syphon) and create small syphon with this and have it flow in the sump, this will keep syphon strong.
