My remora pro skimmer has been running for about 8 months, and has skimming absolutely nothing. It has a maxi jet return and is located in the center of the tank, with the tubing taking the maxi jet about half way down the tank. For a little while it skimmed some very light skimmate, but completely stopped. It would bubble somtimes and not does absolutely nothing but run with the water coming through the return. It used to make a sucking noise, but seems to have stopped. Ive heard good things about this skimmer so im thinking maybe its the specific model. Attached are some pics... any ideas?

i end up dumping this skimmer for the same reason for in sump model..... i would try to mess with the screw on the intake , raze and lower the cup , do this and that with no result , right now im thinking that maybe the problem could be in the skimmer nozzle get clogged ...in this case i would make a 1 part vinegar solution with 10 parts water in the 5 gallon bucket and run it for 24-48 hours ..
also try to get a prefilter box it will make you skim correctly 1" off the top

Clean what you can and then run the maxi jet in water (or add vinegar if you prefer). Then use the brush that came with the Remora to clean the inside (there should be a white screw on cap that you can remove). This should be done as part of your maintenance. About every 3 months or so.

Turn the pump off and take the white screw off and clean the intake, that might be dirty. Also that screw looks a little too high you should try and tighten it a little.

Also you might do better by puting the other intake attachment on the pump. Other then that clean the entire thing, I put money on your injector being filthy and clogged.
