Wavy Sea and Heat

Can the Wavy sea be affected by the heat from Metal Halides?
Mine has stopped rotating and I noticed it is very hot to touch. The heat is from two 250 MH 11 inches above.

u every cleaned it ? gears could be grinding or jammed causing the motor to heat up

oh how close is it to the mh ? i had a seaswirl on a 24g nano with 250w mh and never had a problem, could be defective also. i woild call them and ask them and the place where you got it from
