substitute for a vortech?

any suggestions for a cheaper alternative to a vortech magnet pump?

vortechs are one of the best but ur other options are tunze and the cheapest is a koralia. how big is the tank u have. and what corals are u planning to keep

i have a 180 gallon tank but it seems i have a lot of detritus on the live rocks
but i have plenty of current but maybe it is not directed correctly. i have
a blueline 100 water pump and it is only opened about 50%.

You could always use the maxijet 1200 or 900's and a sureflow modification - gives you about 1600 and 1400 gph respectively.

You have invested a significant amount of money in your tank and most likely have and will invest significant amounts of money in your live stock. The difference in pice between the Vortech and the rest is insignificant in the grand scale of your tank. BUY THE VORTECH

add on a flter sock to your drain and use a turkey baster to blow off the detritus weekly....
but do you have any other sort of circulation besides the blueline pump?
