As i have been struggling with the annoying green algae its just freaking annoying. :banghead: As i look at other members and what they are selling i see they have the same problem. How can we control this problem besides buying a yellow tang or any other fish or invert? Does anyone have a suggestion? I know someone said to freeze it over night but that is impossible if you already have corals growing on the rock etc. Any suggestions:scratchch ?

get some snails (to keep it under control) and be do a crapload of water changes and keep ur nutrients down. also run phosban and carbon in a phosban reactor. if it ur testing comes up with low nutrients such as nitrates one reason maybe that ur algae is taking most of it up giving you a false test in a way... how many fish, how big is the tank and what kind of skimmer are u running.

you can't eliminate all the algae from a tank, it's just natural that it grows everywhere.

you need a decent sized clean up crew for your tank size.

Ok this is what i am talking about. I dont believe it has anything to do with with nitrate level or the water quality but i could be wrong. All my corals are growing even my sps :shhh:

It is but how do you get rid of it? I tried taking the rocks out of the tank and brushing it off but it just comes back a week or two later. Its a pain in the ass.

Fire and lots of it!:irked:
No don't do that, you could just scrape off the zoa's and relocate them and just sit the rock in a totally dark part of the ankor turn it over so no more light gets to it.

lettuce nudibranchs - takes care of hair algae- my pin urchin roams over it and does nothing to it.. the only bad thing about it is that the lettuce nudibranchs eats quick then starves unless you keep feeding algae to it..
