I'd asked my local glass shop about this for my old tank and they told me that if I could feel the scratch when I ran my fingernail over it that I would do more harm trying to remove it. They suggested I replace the tank/panel.

yeah buffing out glass is not suggested as something to be done when the tank has water in it. The resulting glass powder should be washed out before putting anything back in there.

i just found out how to do it,cerium oxide,lambs wool,buffing pad,2 ounces of ammonia,2 quarts of water,soft spounge,lint free paper towels.i just placed my order for 1/2 pound of cerium oxide,ill get the rest of the stuff tomorrow,after i remove the scratch out ill let you guys know how it went :biggrin:

definately let us know. I have a tank with a bunch also. I never tried it but I think jewels rouge is suppose to take out light scrathes. Just becareful you can distort the glass if you tried to take out deep ones.
