Denitrifier coil or any similar product?

I have seen several articles on Denitrifier coils
I have also read a few DIY threads and was really amazed at what it can do.
I have decided to "try" to make one. if possible!
Has anyone here done this? to give me some dos and don'ts?
or should I just purchase?
Bottom line Are they any good?
From what I've read in the advertisement it should help save on water changes.
(Save Time and Money, Eliminate Nitrates, Control Algae, and Reduce Maintenance all at once!
