Filter Issues Should I add use a bigger sock?

120gal FOWLR I have an Octopus skimmer coming this weekend but noticed even after I thouroughly cleaned my tank during my water changes the filter sock gets brown fast and not only dirty but the water comes out of the opening of the sock since it is dirty. Should I use a bigger sock? I clean and replace the sock every water change. I notice dirt particles floating in my tank alot. Any ideas? Thanks

you need to change your filter sock more often....like...every 3-4 days...im guessing you change your water once a week?

yes I change the water approz 1-2 weeks would it be better to get a larger filter sock?

big or small socks.....still should be changed in 3-4 days

1-2 weeks lol....
every 3-4 days is ideal, but at least 1 time a week
