Hey I just joined wanted to say hi I am from the NYC area Brooklyn
I am a member on reefcentral but I am looking for more local .
I seemed to have missed the frag swap Not that I knew what it was anyway.

I am very new only 3 months in the hobby Started a bit fast
I have a 75 gallon Not drilled Added 60 lbs ls 75 bs fully cured rock and the water you buy already made . So I waited about 4 weeks (i KNOw) and added a clown then more Now I have
1 clown.1 flame Angel.3 cardinals.3 chromis.2 dart fish 1 algae blenny 10 snails and 12 hermits

My tank has a fluval canister 405 I am running chemi pure 2 packs out of it I had a wet dry long story was told to convert it and it ended up a disaster But the canister is doing great I THINK
Crystal clear water Except after me moving my rocks around last night I checked my levels and the phospahtes were 20 and nitrates 40
I am doing a water change today and I already ordered a posban reactor

I told myself like many of us I was not going to do corals but after seeing how nice they are I think i will look into some frags IO hear to start that way.

So if any one has any suggestions on easy ones plese feel free to chime in.

also I shop at fishtown usa and a new store on steinway in queens (very small)
I like fish town but they are always packed and rushing anyone know any good stores in the queens or Brooklyn area?

Welcome! The store on Steinway St is Wonderful World of Fish. One of our vendors, and a great store. Great customer service also.

And, you haven't missed the frag swap, it's in April.

ok count me in I just got back from Steinway store Steve is really nice guy explains alot I was looking to start some corals? Brought the wife along (smart move on my part) she wants the brains I like the ones that look like trees and move. But I am waiting on my lights to come in the mail before I start

I have a flame angel and I am told to get rid of him if I want coral does that sound right If so what am I supposed to do with him?

Actually, most people attend the swap with nothing but cash to trade ;)

If you'd like to attend, you should sign up in this thread. This way you won't get shut out at the door if attendance is too high (strong possibility). We always have a great turnout and it continually grows. This year we've got some California reefers coming too.
