hi all...
i got 2 pieces of mangrove plants from a friend....
i had it sitting in my sump almost submerged..(i know i should raise them higher out of the water).....i see 1 of them are getting these white bubbly spots on the body.....im wondering if thats gonna have any effects in my water.....is it excreting some white stuff that i should be concerned about?....i was thinking of using a container with some "mud" to make these things grow better....or is arogonite fine?
what do you guys do to maximize the use of these plants...or should i just take them and stir fry with some sliced beef...

if you have them just to have them there is a list of things you need to do to keep them healthy. If you have them to help with your nutrient export don't waste your time. The amount you would need to make a dent isn't plausible in most tanks plus there are much more effective ways of controlling nutrients.

Ugh when it dies it smells horrible, like month old rotting fish.
The white stuff by the way is mold growing on the mangrove, to test if it's still ok you can give it a quick squish test. If you squeeze lightly and it's still hard it still has a chance, but if it's soft and squishy throw it away and DO NOT BREAK IT OPEN.
I made that mistake and really wanted to puke.
