I saw threads before about this but I need to refreshed on this subject.I currently have the CPR 18w lighting and really not noticing any growth with the 10k.Should I go stronger with something else?Ideas, links?
It's just the size of a light bulb. Or just get a 6,500k bulb for the cpr. How much space does the cpr fixture take up? maybe swap the cpr for the HD lightbulb/lamp.
It's on legs.about 4" high and I don't think they make 11"65k bulbs for this fixture.Only 10k and 50/50 which it had originally.Probably going to get the HD lamp.If you know where I can get a 65k lamp in that size, lmk.
i run my fuge with no lights just mud and live rock.in my opinion algae makes algae.just use the fuge to let the copods ect to multiply to feed your system.ive been very sucsessful doing this main system has 4in deep sand bed tank been algae free 4 years.
the sand bed need to be at least 4 ins deep that should take care of the nitrates.i use phos reactor filled with chemi pure elite keep phos nil i also use kalk reactor whicth i feel precipitates phos.if the macro worked for u and alls well keep doing what your doing.
I am all for macro algae and mine grows like crazy under a 6700K bulb. See if you can find one in that spectrum. I know they sell them for terraiums as grow lights
i believe a cpr fixture uses power compact bulbs?....take the bulb out and match one at any store ....but 1 bulb for the cpr will be able to buy the clamp-on light and the bulb.
