Frozen Food

I usually thaw my frozen food by putting it in a cup half full with room temp. i put the cubes directly into the water and wait abotu a half hour until it is soft. i read on a diff post that frozen food has phosphates so its good to rinse them. is this okay or should i thaw it in the air and then rinse it after?

I thaw mine in a cup with tank water (quicker that way)..then I put it in a fish net, rinse if off with either rodi or new SW...squeeze out the excess water & feed.
You do want to get rid of whatever liquid the food was originally frozen in.
